Homegrown defender ANNOUNCES Liverpool departure
Liverpool have developed a reputation as one of finest clubs around for the promotion of young players.
The Reds’ famed academy has produced Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher, Tyler Morton, Jarell Quansah and Conor Bradley among others in the last decade.

All of the aforementioned players are currently starring in Arne Slot’s first team with plenty more up-and-coming academy stars ready to make the breakthrough.
Among the current crop tipped for a big first-team future are Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni, both of whom have been in and around Slot’s squad this season.
But it’s not always possible for every potential first-team star to make the grade at Anfield with one wonderkid CONFIRMING that he will be leaving the club to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
Keehan Barrett-Underwood announces Liverpool departure
Keehan Barrett-Underwood, a United States under-17 defender, has been making his way through the Liverpool academy in the last few years.
Barrett-Underwood had previously been playing for the club’s U16s but it was revealed last month that he was on trial at Leicester. Indeed, he featured for the Foxes’ U18 side in their Premier League Cup match against Tottenham back in November.
While it’s not currently known whether Barrett-Underwood is Leicester-bound in 2025, it has now been stated by the 2008-born player that he will be departing Liverpool.
“Thank you so much Liverpool for all the great memories I have made along the way and thank you to all my teammates for helping me on my journey,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I have loved watching everyone develop and helping me develop as a player I will miss all of you guys but it is time for me to develop on a different journey but I hope you all keep developing and strive for the best in the future.
“I’ve decided to leave as I need to develop on a different path but hopefully we will see each other again.”
It represents a setback for the Reds’ academy system, who recently added promising defender Lucas Clarke from Manchester City.
