Liverpool are reportedly ready to send a ‘fantastic player’ away on loan. They’ll want to see a similar impact to Harvey Elliott.

DaveOCKOP now claims that Kaide Gordon is to leave Liverpool on loan and closes in on a move to Swansea City. It appears this one is just coming down to Gordon accepting the move - and that's near.

Gordon worked his way back to senior football last season after a disastrous couple of years. The winger was out for around 700 days with a hip problem, right after breaking into the setup under Jurgen Klopp.

And after losing nearly two years of his career, Gordon did manage to impress with his few minutes last season. He was certainly impressive for the Under 21s, earning a new contract on the back of some brilliant performances.

Klopp was thrilled to have him back, labelling him a 'fantastic player' once he was in the fold once again.

Gordon was a part of the first-team squad for preseason, too, and has spoken well about life under Arne Slot. He's been enjoying it - but there must be an acceptance that he won't play regularly this season.

Hence the loan. The hope will be that he follows in the footsteps of one former Liverpool loanee who went on to have incredible success.

Kaide Gordon to follow Harvey Elliott's footsteps

Liverpool sent a 17-year-old Harvey Elliott down to the Championship with Blackburn Rovers a few years ago. The results were wonderful as the teenager registered double-digits for assists, with only Michael Olise bettering him in that regard.

Elliott has gone on to become a solid member of the first-team squad, with a feeling that this season could be huge for him. That's the kind of follow-through Liverpool will want from Gordon's loan.

Of course, it does still need to go through and nothing has been confirmed yet - this is all just speculation. But there can be little doubt that this would be a good idea for everyone involved.
