Kai Havertz injury could fast-track Liverpool transfer
Liverpool will be watching closely after Arsenal lost Kai Havertz to injury for the rest of the season.
That's Kai Havertz's season done. The German tore his hamstring while at a training camp in Dubai, with an assessment taking place on Wednesday.

The Athletic now reports that the tear is set to leave Havertz sidelined for the rest of the campaign. He's now focusing on recovering in time for the 2025/26 season.
It's a massive blow to Arsenal. Havertz has been their ever-present at a time when their forward line has struggled for fitness.

Bukayo Saka is currently out and not expected back until March. Gabriel Martinelli is out for at least the next month, while Gabriel Jesus injured his ACL earlier in the year and is out long-term.

The Havertz injury, then, leaves Mikel Arteta's team incredibly short. It also comes fewer than two weeks after the transfer window closed, leaving Arsenal with no option but to make do.
Now, this will naturally affect Liverpool positively as it weakens a challenger. At the same time, this could be bad news in the long term.

Diogo Jota to Arsenal?
Liverpool are planning a major overhaul of their forward line in the summer, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch. Diogo Jota is expected to be a part of that, with his injuries a cause of growing frustration.
REVEALED: Liverpool's top 10 most valuable players
Arsenal are one of those who could end up bidding for Jota. Now, we know what you're thinking: why would the Gunners move for an injury-prone player to solve and injury crisis?
Well, we're not sure. But they do have a long-held interest in Jota and asked about him last summer. Liverpool are of the opinion that he's available to them for the right price.
The Reds would prefer to sell abroad, though. That's what makes the Havertz injury a bit of bad news as it almost certainly gives Arsenal reason to perform their own overhaul this summer.
Any move for Jota may well turn his head and make it more difficult to sell Jota elsewhere. Then there's the added problem of Arsenal almost certainly bidding for similar targets as Liverpool when to comes to their respective overhauls.
So all in all, the Havertz injury makes this season easier. Long-term, though, this could actually complicate quite a lot for Liverpool.
