£250 MILLION: Liverpool's summer of spending is going to be massive
Liverpool have been quiet in the transfer market during recent windows. They declined to add any players at all in January and last summer the only incoming signing they managed was Federico Chiesa.
Although they signed goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, the Georgian remains on loan with the LaLiga club until the end of this season.

It means that the squad is set for a summer refit with potential signings across all sectors of Arne Slot’s team.
Recent matches have confirmed the need for new strikers while the ongoing uncertainty at centre-back means options are being considered in that position too.

Meanwhile, Slot has asked a lot from his midfield over the last few games with Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch appearing jaded. Supplementary options for the middle of the pitch, therefore, are being considered.
Alvarez, Bastoni and Xavi Simons
And, according to the latest reports from Spain, Liverpool are ready to spend €300 MILLION (£250m) in the upcoming transfer window to sort out their squad.
Fichajes claims that Julian Alvarez’s buyout clause in his Atletico Madrid contract stands at €150m. Anfield Watch was first to report Liverpool’s interest in the Argentine World Cup winner, who is being described as the club’s priority summer target.

At centre-back, meanwhile, Liverpool may well have to agree to sign a replacement for Virgil van Dijk, who is out of contract in summer 2025 and no renewal has been forthcoming.
The Dutchman has also been subject of a €100m contract offer from Paris Saint-Germain, as reported by Anfield Watch.
Now Fichajes is reporting that the Merseyside club are prepared to pay €75m to sign the Inter Milan central defender Alessandro Bastoni.
And in midfield, the same publication reports that the Reds will sanction a €75m outlay on the RB Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons.

That scale of of spending would more than make up for the shortfalls in the last few windows. Liverpool have a duty to ensure the quality in Slot’s squad remains high - especially if Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mo Salah are lost for nothing.
