Liverpool have a massive problem up font but the answer is OBVIOUS
Everyone and their dog knows that this summer will be one full of change for Liverpool.
The Reds are looking to strengthen right across the pitch, with a number of high-profile exits expected.
Liverpool transfer news today:
Both full-back positions could be addressed and a new centre-back looks to be on the cards too.
It is Liverpool’s frontline that has sparked the most speculation however, and this could be where Richard Hughes has the most work to do.
The Reds’ need for a top-level striker has become abundantly clear this season, and a number of names have been linked with a big-money Anfield switch, but Liverpool don’t just need a new striker – they need two.

Jonathan David could be Liverpool’s second striker
The likes of Alexander Isak, Julian Alvarez and Hugo Ekitike have been named as top targets for Arne Slot’s side, but the fees involved in any deal for a player of that calibre will be mind boggling.
That means Liverpool, or any club for that matter, are massively unlikely to sign more than one of the strikers named above.
There is however a much cheaper, yet valid, option staring Hughes straight in the face.
As reported by Fichajes, Liverpool are one of the clubs monitoring Lille’s Jonathan David, who will be available on a free transfer this summer.

David has 33 goal involvements in just 41 appearances this season, and scored at Anfield in the Champions League earlier this season.
Reds have become increasingly aware of how free transfers work, with three of the club’s biggest stars – Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold – all out of contract in June.
Liverpool could make good use of the rule that might see them lose their mega-star trio though, and David could be part of Anfield’s new look attack.
Why do Liverpool need two strikers?
As was revealed earlier in the year by Anfield Watch, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez are all expected to leave the club this summer – and this will leave the Reds with a massive lack of options through the middle.
Cody Gakpo is capable of playing as a no.9, but the Dutchman will be busy starting on the left-wing.
Beyond that it is only really Jayden Danns who could step up, but the youngster’s development has stuttered this season and there is little evidence he is ready for that much responsibility just yet.
The only option remaining for Hughes and Slot then is to look to the transfer market for not one but two strikers.
EXCLUSIVE: £41m centre-back is READY to join Liverpool
Jonathan David on a free transfer seems to be the obvious answer for Richard Hughes, and the Canadian national could prove to be the best bit of business Liverpool do all summer.
