Is Alexander Isak not the one? Liverpool in talks for DIFFERENT Premier League striker
Liverpool are reportedly in talks for a Premier League striker to join them this summer - but it's not Alexander Isak.
Liverpool will be in the market for a striker this summer. Anfield Watch understands the Reds will attempt a major overhaul of their forward line once the season is done.

One massive reason for that is a lack of faith in their current forwards. Both Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota have proven unreliable under Arne Slot, though for different reasons.
And so Liverpool want to bring in someone new to lead the attack. It's a role that could carry extra importance if Mo Salah leaves the club, too.
One name has been talked about consistently since the winter window - Alexander Isak. The Newcastle United striker has been remarkable this season, scoring 19 times to add to the 21 he got last term.
Liverpool supposedly want to sign him, however, the asking price is sure to be astronomical. The Reds, though, appear to have an alternative.

Liverpool start Joao Pedro talks
Caught Offside claims Liverpool have made initial contact with the entourage of Joao Pedro. They claim competition for the player is increasing, sparking the Reds into life here.
There's a major reason Liverpool want to front the queue, too: he'd cost a fraction of Isak's fee. The report suggests 'around €50m' but we imagine that's well short of the eventual cost.
But Isak's price is quoted at around £150m by some outlets. Pedro certainly won't command that kind of fee.
We're massive fans of the Brazilian, for what it's worth. He's got the qualities of Roberto Firmino - one of the finest forwards to ever play for Liverpool.

And someone who could, importantly, thrive in Slot's system. We'll be hoping there's really something to this, then, as Pedro is a special talent and one who could fix a lot of problems at Anfield.
What's he's not, though, is a sure thing. Isak might really be that, given he's already one of the finest strikers in Europe.
But that's why Pedro would cost a lot less, of course. Liverpool have a big decision to make here as they pick their future no.9.

And with so much other business on the agenda, picking the cheaper forward might end up being the smart decision.
