World-class winger is now BEGGING for second chance to join Liverpool
Liverpool's attacking department is looking in great shape at the moment but there is one winger who is seemingly desperate for another chance to join the team who could be a great addition.
Sure, Arne Slot has plenty of options to choose from right now. However, that could change very quickly.
Liverpool FC News Today: CRAZY deal eyed as club boss confirms he’s ready to sell left-back
Mohamed Salah's future is up in the air. His contract expires in the summer and he is yet to sign an extension.
Then there is also the question of Darwin Nunez. Anfield Watch revealed exclusively that he was being courted by Saudi clubs and that the Reds would be open to selling him.
If you lose both of those stars, suddenly Liverpool's options in attack look slim.
Then you add the fact that Diogo Jota is incredibly injury prone and that Luis Diaz is entering the last two years of his deal and now suddenly the whole situation looks volatile.
But fear not, because there is a winger Liverpool could add to the squad right now and it seems like he's practically begging to join the Reds and be given a second chance.
Why Jeremie Frimpong is begging to join Liverpool
The Bayer Leverkusen winger/wing-back recently revealed in an interview with Rising Ballers that when he was first spotted at grassroots level, he wanted to join Liverpool.
However, that move never materialised because the distance to travel to the Reds was too much for his family. Instead, Frimpong ended up at Manchester City.
But the world-class Dutchman's revelation is fascinating. Especially because it's not the first time recently he has openly brought up Liverpool as a topic.
Back in February last year, he was asked about the prospect of joining the Reds and described it as a great opportunity.
“Liverpool? Great club, with the history. That would be great. Who knows what the future holds," Frimpong said as per Soccer News.
Then as per One Football Sports Bild reported on their front page on July 10th 2024 that Frimpong had set his sights on a move to Anfield.
And if we cast our minds back to a clip of the Netherlands training in March 2024, Frimpong joked about scoring the last penalty against Liverpool in the Europa League final as spotted by the Ons Oranje YouTube channel.
“Europa League final, last penalty against Liverpool," Frimpong was spotted to have said.
All of these recent references by him to the Reds cannot be a coincidence. The 24-year-old might just be making subtle allusions to the fact that he would be very keen on a move to Anfield.
And we would be all for it. Frimpong could be an ideal option for Liverpool in the front three. He's got the speed and the finishing touch having his 37 goal contributions last season and this season so far.
That's the kind of addition we would love to see at Liverpool.
