As well as the players currently cemented in the first team picture, there are a number of prospects verging on breaking into Slot’s side.
Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha look destined to be big stars at Anfield but arguably the brightest prospect of all is Jayden Danns, who could be about to make the next step in his career.
Two sides fighting it out for Danns
Danns made a move to Plymouth on loan at the start of the season before returning prematurely due to injury, but now he may have a second chance to cut his cloth in the Championship.
According to Football Insider, both Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers are keen on taking the 19-year-old on loan for the rest of the campaign.
Both teams are promotion contenders, with Sunderland sitting fourth, 10 points ahead of Blackburn in fifth.
Jayden’s father, Neil Danns, started his career at Blackburn, going through their academy before making three senior appearances for the Lancashire-based side.
Jayden Danns’ bright future
Danns has scored once in his four appearances for Liverpool’s senior team this season and impressed in a number of cameos last season under Jurgen Klopp.
What the youngster needs now to take his game to the next level is consistent first-team football, and the Championship could be the perfect place for him to gain experience.
Elliott spent a season on loan at Blackburn before he broke though into the Reds’ senior team and Ben Doak is currently enjoying an impressive loan spell with Middlesbrough that could well see him given increased responsibility upon his return.
There isn’t much time left in the transfer window for a deal to be done, but a move to either Sunderland or Blackburn could definitely materialise, and it could be exactly what Danns needs to force himself into Slot’s side next season.
