Liverpool MUST accept surprise £30m bid - they don't have a choice
Liverpool have little choice but to accept a £30m offer incoming this summer. The Reds need it to happen.
Richard Hughes didn't have to do all that much with incoming deals during his first transfer window. Perhaps that was always the plan - ease him in gently.

The only deals he actually secured were opportunistic, with Giorgi Mamardashvili the 'major' arrival at £30m from Valencia. The goalkeeper has remained on loan there for this season.
Federico Chiesa was the other signing, though one with little impact. Chiesa has played under 30 minutes in the Premier League across this campaign - he may not even get a medal.
Of course, Hughes wanted to add Martin Zubimendi to the squad at Liverpool. The only reason that didn't happen was Zubimendi's change of heart right at the death.
So Liverpool went into the season with much the same squad as they had when Jurgen Klopp left. Thiago and Joel Matip both retired, Adrian left, Chiesa joined, but that was it.
Things will not be the same in 2025.

Liverpool must accept the offer
Liverpool plan on doing a lot of business this summer. Hughes will face the opposite of 2024, essentially, as the club want him to make plenty of deals happen.
The major ones will come up top. Liverpool want a new no.9, someone who can provide consistent output in a way neither Darwin Nunez nor Diogo Jota has managed.
The former is simply inconsistent on the pitch, the latter inconsistent in getting on the pitch.
The no.9 Liverpool are eager to sign above all is Alexander Isak. That shouldn't be a massive surprise - the Swede has been sensational over the last two seasons.
As Liverpool felt at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final, in fact.
But Newcastle United don't exactly what to sell Isak. He's their star player and it'll take an enormous fee just to get them talking.

That's why their interest in Jarell Quansah is such an interesting development. The Times reports there's an incoming £30m bid, plus add-ons, from Newcastle.
They actually hoped to sign Quansah last summer and wanted to include him in a deal for Anthony Gordon. Liverpool may actually have signed Gordon if they'd agreed to that - but the Reds said no.
Well, this time around, it's difficult to see how Liverpool reject the offer. They need to be on Newcastle's good side and maintain as strong a relationship with them as possible.
Come across as unreasonable or difficult to deal with and suddenly signing Isak is a much tougher prospect. Newcastle will be very aware of that, of course.

We imagine Liverpool will have to play ball on this one, then. Deal with Newcastle comfortably for Quansah and then a move for Isak can naturally follow.
