EXCLUSIVE: Dortmund chief REVEALS Liverpool-linked Jamie Gittens transfer plan
Liverpool fans excited by recent rumours from Germany linking the Reds with emerging Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens would have been further enthralled by his brilliant performance in Der Klassiker against Bayern Munich.
The 20-year-old Englishman scored his eighth goal of the season with a blistering run from the half-way line against Bayern Munich, continuing his breakout season in the Bundesliga.

Gittens has come to the attention of fans back home in England with four goals in the Champions League this season, and links of a move to Liverpool as a potential Luis Diaz successor are making a lot of sense.
Ahead of Dortmund’s home tie with rivals Bayern, reports emerged in Germany that Liverpool were among the Premier League clubs interested in signing the young talent.
Borussia Dortmund has been a breeding ground for young English players in the past few seasons, helping to turn both Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham into superstars.
Carsten Cramer on Gittens
BVB Managing Director Carsten Cramer believes that Gittens is crucial to not only the present of Borussia Dortmund, but also the future, and admitted the German club are eager to ward off interest from the likes of Liverpool to keep him at the club.
“He is very important, right now he is one of our players who makes the difference,” Cramer told Anfield Watch. “Even if we had some problems on the pitch, he can be a difference-maker through his individual quality.
“He had some bad luck with injuries, but he’s really focused. He’s a Dortmund guy. When we convinced him to sign, we had a good example from former players like Bellingham and Sancho, but not only the English ones, but others. The young ones know they will receive minutes on the pitch and that Dortmund is an excellent platform.
“It is our ambition to keep these players with us for as long as possible. It’s not our aim to make as much money as quickly as possible. He is a player who makes a difference. But he’s also a player who can be a good example to other young players that Dortmund gives you the time to develop yourself and educate yourself even if you are struggling with injuries.
“We are very, very happy to have him here. Happy with how he’s playing, how he’s behaving. He’s so humble. He’s a perfect Dortmund guy.”
