Liverpool are preparing for a summer transfer shakeup with several names in the frame to arrive at Anfield. Before sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Arne Slot get down to business however there will be some considerable outgoings.

Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez are seen as expendable options if sufficient bids are received while wingers Luis Diaz and Federico Chiesa could also depart.

If Hughes and Slot do manage to conduct a clearout, then it will free up adequate funds for a striking refit.

Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen are two of the players admired ahead of the summer, according to Sky Sports, but each would require a considerable transfer outlay.

EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool ENTER Hugo Ekitike talks

Isak, 26, could be marketed by Newcastle for £150 million and there is little chance FSG would go that high in the bidding.

And although Osimhen, 26, is one year closer to his Napoli contract expiry date, the Italians were looking for upwards of £100m for their No9 last summer before he went on loan to Galatasaray.

Isak and Osimhen on Liverpool shortlist

Both players fit the profile for what kind of striker Liverpool are looking for in their search for their next striker.

But Sky Sports also mentioned one other player with the raw material to match those two senior options, and one currently seen by the Reds as a higher “risk” due to his relative lack of experience.

Benjamin Sesko, 21, is coming to the end of his second season in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig. So far the Slovenian has performed very well, dovetailing beautifully with another Reds’ transfer target in Xavi Simons.

He’s got 25 league goals in 58 matches and could be available for transfer this summer.

Mooted as a potential Arsenal and Manchester United target in January, Sesko nonetheless pledged his allegiance to the Red Bulls until the end of the season at least. Sesko is under contract until 2029 and would command a sizeable fee in the market.

Sesko seen as a bigger 'risk' by Liverpool

However, whatever RB Leipzig charge is sure to be lower than the sums quoted for Isak or Osimhen.

“Benjamin Sesko - also a similar profile - is also a player Liverpool have tracked for some time and admire, but would be more of a risk at just 22 (sic) years old,” a report reads.

“This summer he is very much on the market.”

A giant at 6’5 and capable of scoring incredible long-range goals, Sesko is an explosive young striker who would get fans off their feet at Anfield.

Where he lies in FSG’s list of transfer priorities ahead of the summer remains to be seen.
