Konate's contract expires in the summer of 2026 and Liverpool will be keen to tie him down to a new deal after his brilliant performances this season.

But many reports have now also confirmed Paris Saint Germain's interest in the Liverpool star. The past week has been rife with rumours about Konate.

Especially, after his disappointing performance against Wolverhampton. Now though, Liverpool have issued an adamant statement to all the doubters.

With all the talk about Konate, Liverpool were back in training this week to begin preparations for an important match against Aston Villa.

And the club's official account posted images of Liverpool players arriving in training at the AXA training centre. Interestingly, the club chose to show a picture of Konate smiling as the first image on their Instagram post.

The reel shows the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Wataru Endo and Federico Chiesa arriving in training.

But the focus is on Konate and his smile, showing how happy he is to be at Liverpool.

Konate is also the only player who makes an appearance on the post not once but twice. Because as well as the first image, the last image also depicts an image of the Frenchman dressed stylishly.

Liverpool of course rarely comment on speculation. The club simply doesn't do that but this post is a defiant response without actually commenting on all the rumours.

It's a clever and subtle post that still highlights the most important thing about both the club's and Konate's stance.

Liverpool are happy to have him, so happy they've posted a picture of him twice and Konate is happy at the club, so happy he's smiling as he's arriving into work.

That response should make fans feel a lot better about Konate's current situation. Despite Paris Saint Germain lurking in the shadows, he's content where he is and Liverpool don't want to change that either.
