Liverpool have signalled that an exit is on the way for Ibrahima Konate. The Reds are now in transfer talks.

Ibrahima Konate's future is not clear right now. The Frenchman's contract expires at the end of the season and Liverpool's efforts to get a new one signed have thus far failed.

There have been talks between the two parties but no agreement. And that's with Paris Saint-Germain lurking in the background to see if they can secure a homegrown talent on the cheap.

Konate, who is from Paris, started his career with Paris FC. Anfield Watch understands that PSG now hope to snap him up, either on a cut-price deal this summer or by waiting for a free transfer in 2026.

Liverpool, of course, won't want to lose him for nothing. Not after possibly losing Trent Alexander-Arnold for the same amount this summer.

It opens the door to a transfer, in other words, and the Reds might actually be signalling that one is on the way. They've entered talks for a serious replacement.

Liverpool want Dean Huijsen

It was reported during the week that Liverpool have taken a major step forward to sign Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth. The Spain international is expected to leave the Cherries this summer through a £50m release clause.

His performances this season have driven intense interest in his signing, with Liverpool one of those most interested. Especially as this is a player they were watching heavily before his move to the south coast.

Relovo claims Liverpool have made Bournemouth aware that they're willing to pay the release clause. The other teams involved - Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur etc. - aren't seen as major threats, either.

And so there are a few things to take away here. Firstly, Liverpool would not be spending £50m on a new centre-back unless someone is leaving. They already boast Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah for the role and a fifth signing would be overkill - especially at £50m.

But it's difficult to believe that Huijsen would agree to join Liverpool simply to play a squad role. Liverpool's willingness to pay the release clause would only come if they were sure he'd say yes, too.

So Huijsen must believe he's joining as a first-team regular. Van Dijk certainly isn't off, so it suggests he'd be filling Konate's spot.

Of course, that in turn suggests Konate is actually off. Which, right now, all signs do point towards.
