Richard Hughes finds solution to Liverpool contract CRISIS
It’s no secret that Liverpool are facing an IMMEDIATE triple contract threat.
Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all out of contract in summer 2025 with no breakthrough yet reached over new deals.

All three have been entitled to speak to potentially interested overseas clubs about pre-contract agreements since January 1 and there is speculation that all three could take up deals elsewhere.
Salah and Van Dijk could be heading to Saudi Arabia to join Al Hilal while Alexander-Arnold is a known target for Real Madrid.
The Reds’ decision-makers will be desperate to avoid this situation being repeated in the future which is why talks have been ongoing with other players over the last few months.
Jarell Quansah was the first to sign a new deal while negotiations remain ongoing for Ibrahima Konate. It’s unlikely that Luis Diaz will sign a new contract considering his apparent unhappiness at the terms of his current deal, meaning he could well be sold.
Talks planned for Elliott
Another player out of contract in 2027 is Harvey Elliott and Football Insider is now reporting that the England under-21 international is in line for a new deal.
While the priority remains on fixing up new contracts for Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold, talks are set to take place with Elliott at the end of the season.
The playmaker reiterated this week that he intends to remain on Merseyside for the long-term after scoring against Lille in the Champions League.
It had been suggested that Elliott could well be sold in January or else next summer as Richard Hughes attempts to generate funds for extra incoming transfers.
Borussia Dortmund and Brighton are among the teams linked with Elliott but the player is firmly intent on remaining at Anfield.
He has proven his worth to Arne Slot over the last few weeks with an assist against Brentford last Saturday before his midweek interventions against the French side.
Having bounced back from a devastating foot injury which kept him out for three months, Elliott is finally showing the form which saw him displace Dominik Szoboszlai at the end of last season, being described as Liverpool's 'best player' at one stage by Jurgen Klopp.
And it looks like he will be soon rewarded for his fine displays, ensuring one more contract disaster is avoided by FSG and Hughes.
