Galatasaray's president and sporting director are travelling to the United Kingdom in a bid to sign Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, according to a Turkish report.

The Super Lig champions have been previously linked with the Dutchman, who only arrived at Anfield from Bayern Munich for £34m last summer.

Multiple outlets in Turkey have revealed Galatasaray's interest in the 22-year-old following Gravenberch's difficult debut season with the Reds.

While he did make 38 appearances last term, scoring four times and making an encouraging start, the youngster struggled to consistently impose himself in the Premier League, Europa League or cup competitions.

As a result, there is speculation regarding his short-term future with Liverpool, and Galatasaray may take advantage.

RYAN GRAVENBERCH SUBJECT OF GALATASARAY INTEREST

According to Turkish outlet Yeni Safak, Gala president Dursun Ozbek and sporting director Cenk Ergun are set to travel to England to try and complete a deal for the former Ajax star.

They state that Galatasaray are keen on organising a loan for the Dutch international, who travelled with the Netherlands to Euro 2024 this summer despite not playing a single minute.

Yeni Safak also claim that Arne Slot would be happy to sanction a temporary exit given Gravenberch is not in his immediate plans for the 2024/25 season.

Galatasaray are desperate to sign a new high-profile midfielder this summer after opting against making Tanguy Ndombele's spell at the club permanent.

Despite reports coming out of Turkey, it seems unlikely that Liverpool would be willing to let Gravenberch leave the club either temporarily or permanently before the end of the summer window.

New head coach Arne Slot is reportedly wanting to offer all of Liverpool's players a chance to impress him during pre-season, with Gravenberch yet to team up with the Reds due to his Euro 2024 travels.

Therefore, Slot would surely want to assess the midfielder prior to making a decision, with his compatriot having shown glimpses of his quality in a red shirt last campaign.

Liverpool do have an abundance of talent in the engine room but it seems far more likely that younger academy prospects would be loaned out than someone of Gravenberch's ability and experience.
