FOUR Dutch stars? Liverpool plot big-name arrival for just €35m
Liverpool have their eyes on yet another Dutch player to join their incredible squad. And he's cheap, too.

It wasn't actually planned but Liverpool have quite the Dutch contingent right now. Virgil van Dijk has been a stalwart for a while, of course, and they added Cody Gakpo two years ago.

Ryan Gravenberch then joined in the summer of 2023 as a bit of a project player. Of course, Gakpo and Gravenberch have come on leaps and bounds since arriving.
Now this trio are all cemented in Liverpool's best XI and absolutely thriving for the Reds. All were helped on by a Dutch manager in Arne Slot and a host of Dutch coaches.
It's been a bit of a takeover, really, even if it wasn't planned. And it appears Liverpool might not be done, either.
They're reportedly looking at another Dutch player - one who could partner Gravenberch in midfield.
Liverpool eye Frenkie de Jong
Caught Offside claims Liverpool have their eyes on Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong. They're still in the market for a holding midfielder, with De Jong on that shortlist.
But there is a problem - his salary. De Jong takes home a large wage and that's been really the principal reason why he's remained at Barcelona for so long.
His price tag has dropped dramatically, though. Barcelona would apparently accept around €35m for the midfielder - and Liverpool are tempted.
Maybe even tempted enough to tempt him away with a big wage offer of their own.
De Jong's reputation isn't what it once was but he remains one of the best passing midfielders in the world. Liverpool may well view him as a player they could really pull the potential out of, more than Barcelona have managed, anyway.

And with Slot a the helm, they may be right. No Liverpool fan should rush out to get a De Jong shirt just yet but this is one to watch heading into the summer.
