Liverpool transfer target is on the move: 'Deal is done'
Liverpool are closing in on the Premier League title but Arne Slot and Richard Hughes aren’t standing still. The soon-to-be 20-time champions of England have got several players earmarked for the exit door.
That’s because upgrades are planned and the Reds need to make space in order to accommodate new arrivals. We could see wingers Luis Diaz and Federico Chiesa leave, with interest being shown in their services.

And among the players tipped to arrive as a new attacker has been Florian Wirtz. The 21-year-old Germany international was a Bundesliga winner with Bayer Leverkusen last season but could follow Xabi Alonso out the exit door this summer.

With the head coach destined to join Real Madrid as a Carlo Ancelotti replacement, it promises to be a summer of big changes at the BayArena.
Wirtz is only under contract until 2027 - with Leverkusen so far unable to convince him to sign a new deal.
The great and good of European football are queuing up to sign the attacking midfielder - with Liverpool’s reported interest being matched by the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Wirtz moving because Alonso 'deal is done'
Indeed Pep Guardiola’s side are among the only teams in the world who could furnish such a lavish outlay, with Wirtz’s value now reaching €116.4m according to Football Transfers.
Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness has told Football Insider that since Alonso’s “deal is done”, it could mean several of Leverkusen’s star names - Wirtz included - will be off this summer.
Moreover it’s City - not Liverpool - tipped to complete this transfer with a high-profile replacement for Kevin De Bruyne now required.
Changing of the guard at Leverkusen
“City have come to the realisation that they’re going to have to make a statement signing,” he said.
“They’ve got to shake things up a bit, because this season has been well below standards.
“It does seem that there is a lot of interest in Wirtz.
“At his sort of valuation, I think City are actually the only ones who can go there right now. I don’t think even Real Madrid can afford him.
“The caveat is that talent like this may not be swayed totally by money.
“Wirtz is going to make a lot of money wherever he goes, but you’ve got to believe playing under Pep Guardiola as a young player will be a strong appeal.
“I think it’s an easier deal to do now, with Alonso heading to Real Madrid. I’m led to believe that deal is done.

“I think for the Leverkusen players, they’ll see that changing of the guard and believe the time is right to move.
“Wirtz is a talent, and he would be a statement signing for Man City. Let’s see.”
