Liverpool forward makes transfer U-TURN
Half a season on from signing, and we have sadly only had the opportunity to see glimpses of what Federico Chiesa might be able to do in a Liverpool shirt.
After early-season cameos, he underwent a long conditioning programme in order to stand up to the physical and tactical exertions required to be a member of Arne Slot’s squad.

Just prior to Christmas he appeared off the bench to help Liverpool see off Southampton in the Carabao Cup, and he recently scored his first goal for the Reds against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup.
In the midst of all this, Chiesa has long been linked with a move back to his home country.
Anfield Watch revealed last month that Chiesa was homesick and disappointed at the lack of playing time he has been able to receive in the first half of the season.
Chiesa decides to stay with Liverpool
Could it really be that someone like Chiesa, who was so palpably overjoyed upon his arrival at Anfield, wanted to leave mere months after his arrival?
It did seem that any time these links to various top Serie A sides would gather momentum, Chiesa would take to social media to share snaps of his time with Liverpool so far in an effort to reaffirm his commitment to the Reds.
Now further reports in Italy have emerged, once again linking Chiesa with a return. Reporter Valter De Maggio was speaking about Chiesa to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli as the Neapolitans look to replace once-Liverpool target Khvicha Kvaratshkelia, now headed to Paris Saint-Germain.
De Maggio said: “Federico Chiesa’s name can be crossed off the list of possible replacements for Kvaratskhelia. From a direct source, Chiesa is very happy in Liverpool, he is happy, he will not move.
"Liverpool also will not sell him, neither permanently nor on loan. Therefore Chiesa will not be Kvaratskhelia’s heir.”
Very positive news for Liverpool, in that not only is Chiesa still as happy as he outwardly appears, but this finally seems to be the consensus amongst the myriad of clubs that had reportedly shown an interest in tempting Chiesa back to Italy on loan.
