Liverpool star CONFIRMS he's staying
Several of Liverpool’s forward players are under scrutiny as the season draws to a close. Darwin Nunez is chief among the candidates to leave the club, having failed to convince head coach Arne Slot of his merits.
If the Reds can recoup some of their £85 million outlay paid to Benfica in 2022 then the No9 will be on his way.

Meanwhile, despite a goal against Everton in the derby, Diogo Jota has had plenty of injury trouble again this season with the club reported to be ready to cash in if the right offer materialises.
Luis Diaz could ALSO be in line to depart. The Colombian is under contract until 2027 but with little hope of signing new terms he could be offloaded before his value drops any further.

And Federico Chiesa, Liverpool’s much-vaunted summer signing, is deemed expendable after only one season at the club.
Arne Slot would let Chiesa go
The Italian has only managed three Premier League appearances all season long - with zero starts - and it’s been widely reported that Liverpool would consider selling the 27-year-old in the upcoming transfer window.
A goal against Newcastle in the EFL Cup final hasn’t changed Chiesa’s fate with Roma and AC Milan among the Serie A contenders ready to take him back home.
However, the latest indications are that Chiesa is NOT resigned to his Anfield fate and instead wants to remain on Merseyside to complete his contract.
Signed last summer until mid-2028 on a contract reported to be worth £120,000 per week, Chiesa was reported in January to be homesick but is now determined to convince Arne Slot to keep him around.
Chiesa wants to STAY at Liverpool
That’s according to the latest report from Christian Falk in the Daily Briefing, who says that only injuries have prevented the Italy international from showing his best.
“Not True: Ex-Bayern candidate Federico Chiesa wants to leave Liverpool in the summer,” the German journalist writes.
“He wants to fulfil his contract until summer 2028. He was also not interested in the winter interest from Napoli, Inter Milan and Lazio because he wants to assert himself on Merseyside.
“The fact that he has had problems so far is due to his two injuries. He wants to show Liverpool this season just how valuable he can be.”

It remains to be seen whether Chiesa has control of his Liverpool destiny. Liverpool are set for a massive overhaul this summer and Chiesa could even be pushed out against his will.
