Three new signings! Liverpool fans predict busy end to transfer window

Here’s how many players fans expect to arrive at Liverpool this summer after our poll. People do expect things to heat up.

Liverpool are yet to do any transfer business this summer. No buying, no selling. They're one of only two clubs in the Premier League who haven't signed anyone, along with Fulham.

And Fulham are reportedly closing in on Emile Smith-Rowe.

There are no such strong links between Liverpool and a signing. We'll almost certainly need to wait a little longer, with the Reds having headed off to their pre-season tour of the USA.

Of course, there are reasons for the delay in signings. Liverpool don't only have a new head coach but a new sporting director. There were also two international tournaments this summer, preventing the arriving pair from working with the bulk of the first-team.

Three contracts need sorting, too, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk all on expiring deals.

So as time continues to tick away, what should we expect as far as arrivals go? We asked Liverpool fans on X/Twitter for their take on how many will arrive.

Liverpool fans predict transfer business

We gave fans three options - no incoming at all, one to three signings, or at least four signings. Overwhelmingly, fans voted for between one and three signings.

71.6% voted for the middle option that was, to be fair, by far the most likely of the three. It's worth noting, however, that a quarter of fans (24.75, at least) opted for zero signings.

There is, after all, a bit of pessimism around Liverpool's transfer business right now and the delay in making things happen. It's led to many believing that there is no plan to sign anyone in this window.

While that's not necessarily a blow, it would be a gigantic gamble and one we don't really see much value in. Hopefully, we get a couple of arrivals soon.
