Liverpool are facing a triple contract blow at the end of the 2024/25 season. Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold are currently scheduled to LEAVE Anfield at the conclusion of the current campaign.

All three are out of contract in summer 2025 and so far there has been no news regarding renewals. Alexander-Arnold, 26, appears closest to leaving with reports suggesting that Real Madrid are confident of landing the England defender on a Bosman.

And although Van Dijk’s renewal looked imminent in the leadup to Christmas, the trail has gone cold in recent weeks with European clubs including Paris Saint-Germain being encouraged to make a bid for his services.

The situation looks more encouraging with Salah, meanwhile, with Trent’s exit potentially freeing up enough budget to renew the Egyptian King.

And it’s not only this summer that Liverpool are facing uncertainty.

'Nothing concrete' in Diaz talks

In 2026, Caoimhin Kelleher and Ibrahima Konate are out of contract while in 2027 Curtis Jones, Alisson Becker, Harvey Elliott, Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley and Luis Diaz are among the high-profile names whose terms expire.

The standoff over Diaz has been rumbling all season with the Colombian reported to be unhappy with this current deal. Initially signed in 2022 from Porto for ÂŁ37.5 million, Diaz signed a ÂŁ55,000 per week contract.

The 28-year-old has been angling for a pay rise but Liverpool have so far been unwilling or unable to meet his demands. That leaves the club vulnerable with Diaz’s value diminishing as his contract ticks towards expiry.

And now the situation has been explained by Fabrizio Romano, who states there are currently NO contract talks in place between Diaz and the club.

Moreover, with the likes of PSG, Arsenal and Barcelona mooted as potential destinations, Diaz could be LEAVING Anfield.

“My information is that at the moment there is nothing advanced or concrete in terms of new contract talks at Liverpool, so let’s see what happens in the final months of the season, if Liverpool decide to offer a new deal to Luis Diaz or if they decide to pathways in the summer transfer window,” he told the Daily Briefing.

It remains to be seen what Liverpool have got planned for Diaz because they will need to ensure he doesn’t end up leaving for nothing in 2027.
