Fabrizio Romano confirms MASSIVE Liverpool sale is imminent
Liverpool’s 20th Premier League title is now almost guaranteed and, with the season drawing to a close, focus has begun to shift to the upcoming transfer window.
There has been plenty of speculation over the Reds’ transfer targets, but there is also a lot of discussion about which stars could be moved on from Arne Slot’s side.

Anfield Watch exclusively revealed earlier this year that a number of high-profile departures are expected before the start of next season, with Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota among those for sale.
Contract extensions signed by Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk offered some further clarity on the club’s summer plans, but Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the Reds are set to cash in on another of their stars.
Darwin Nunez will leave Liverpool this summer
Writing for GIVEMESPORT, transfer insider Romano has confirmed the future of Darwin Nunez.
The journalist revealed that ‘barring any shocking surprises’ Nunez will be sold in the summer, with both the club and the player ready to move on.
Liverpool rejected a bid of around £70 million from Saudi Arabia for the Uruguayan in January, but there is still reported interest from Saudi Pro League sides, as well as a number of sides in Europe including Atletico Madrid.

Nunez has made 42 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this campaign, but he has only found himself in Slot’s starting XI on 17 occasions.
News recently broke of a bonus included in Liverpool’s agreement with Benfica for Nunez, meaning the Reds will have to pay an additional €5m upon the player’s 60th start in the Premier League and Champions League.
Seeing as the striker currently sits on 59 starts in the competitions for Liverpool, it seems unlikely he will earn another start in the closing weeks of the season.
The future of Liverpool’s no.9 position
A number of top strikers have been touted as potential replacements for Nunez, with the Reds’ desire for a new striker widely known.
Alexander Isak is arguably the biggest name that has been thrown about, but the Swedish striker would require a massive outlay that the club may not be able to afford.
Talks have also been held over a transfer for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch, but the Frenchman’s price tag could also prove an issue.
Other options including Liam Delap, Julian Alvarez and Victor Osimhen are also reportedly being discussed, but it remains unclear who Liverpool’s number one choice is.

Although it isn’t yet clear who Liverpool will bring in the summer, it is becoming increasingly obvious that Darwin Nunez’s time at Anfield is coming to a close.
