EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool convinced Lewis Hall can make instant Anfield impact

Liverpool believe Lewis Hall is an ideal replacement for Andy Robertson this summer. The Newcastle United left-back could be a major signing.

Anfield Watch understands that Lewis Hall is viewed as a potential summer signing for Liverpool. The Reds believe he could be their Andy Robertson successor.

Importantly, Liverpool view Hall as both a short-term and long-term replacement. This isn't necessarily the case for their other targets at left-back, with many being quite inexperienced at the top level.

Others are perhaps too close to their 'prime' to be around as long as Robertson has been. Hall, however, ticks every box.

There's another important factor in play, too: Hall is homegrown. Homegrown players (i.e. those developed in England) are especially important for Liverpool as a good few could leave this summer.

Hall would make long-term squad decisions a lot more simple, if the Reds can get a deal done.

But that's where things get problematic. Realistically, a deal could only happen if Newcastle United miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification.

Even that might not be enough. Liverpool are also interested in Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon - signing all three is essentially impossible.

Lewis Hall to Liverpool?

It's a signing that makes an awful lot of sense for Liverpool. Hall has established himself as a regular player for Newcastle as they chase Champions League football this season and he's done it in style.

Four assists this season and some brilliant performances. Hall has become exactly the player Newcastle hoped he'd be when they signed him from Chelsea in 2023.

Hall could comfortably slot into the Liverpool squad and as we say, bring that homegrown status with him.

Football Transfers suggest his value is around €26m right now but with his potential in mind, Hall would cost far more. One look at how his valuation has grown this season should give you an idea of what to expect.

Newcastle paid around £30m to Chelsea to sign Hall - we imagine they'd want an awful lot more to sell now. Potentially twice as much.

However, there is an interesting side-thought here. Newcastle don't want to sell Isak in the summer but will be under immense pressure to do so.

Selling Hall could ease that pressure and give them the money to make signings without losing their star forward. It's an angle Liverpool could consider if their own efforts to sign Isak run into a wall.

We didn't include Hall in our list of potential new left-backs recently but our understanding is that he actually falls near the top of the list this summer.
