Dominik Szoboszlai will have seen the news; Now he must SAVE his Liverpool place
Dominik Szoboszlai faces a race against time to save his Liverpool place. This comes after news of a possible replacement.
Dominik Szoboszlai is having an interesting season. Arne Slot has come in and really pushed him into his natural position - something he didn't really have under Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp's lack of a no.10 meant Szoboszlai played further away from goal. Now he's more active in the forward line and Liverpool are benefitting from that.
Now, not necessarily in the way of goals and assists. Szoboszlai certainly needs to add more to his game and the strike against Southampton was a great start in that regard.
But given that the attacking midfield role is the only one the Hungarian can really play, he needs to excel there. His pressing and movement is virtually flawless there, and the way he helps Liverpool transition from attack to defence is magnificent.
Though, there's a sense that Liverpool might feel they can do better and news to that regard has revealed itself.
Liverpool like Xavi Simons
The Athletic report that Liverpool are one of the 'probable destinations' for Xavi Simons. The Dutchman isn't expected to remain with RB Leipzig past his loan spell, while Paris Saint-Germain are in a position to sell him.
And with that, Liverpool could get their ideal attacking midfielder. Simons is an enormous talent, one of the most exciting players in his age bracket.
But he's also naturally an AM. Much like Szoboszlai.
It's difficult to see how Liverpool could give both the game time they want and if they're paying big money for Simons, it would suggest he's the one they see a future in. The current star can change that, though.
Szoboszlai just needs to show he can deliver the goals and assists. If he does that, there's no reason to sign Simons and the player will have his role locked down.
We know he can do everything else perfectly. Szoboszlai was fantastic against Manchester City, constantly picking up the spaces that allowed Liverpool to beat the press and break through the lines.
Keep doing that, keep pressing hard, add the production: that's the way to see off Simons and save your role at Liverpool.
