EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool want to sign wonderkid BETTER than Moises Caicedo

Liverpool's scouting team watched him in action against Brazil on Thursday night and have monitored his progress in his impressive fledgling career so far.

The 15-year-old is the youngest player to appear at the U20 Sudamericana in over a decade. Liverpool's scouts are on strong terms with the Ecuadorian defender's club Independiente del Valle and Ordonez is someone who has caught the club's attention.

Despite his young age, he is already proving himself against peers much older than him and he comes from an academy that has produced Moises Caicedo, Kendry Paez, Piero Hincapie and Willian Pancho.

But just who is he and what kind of player is he?

Who is Deinner Ordonez?

Coming from one of the best academies in Ecuador, Ordonez has benefitted from the brilliant work that has been done at Independiente del Valle over the last decade.

The club has placed a strong emphasis on player development and integrating youngsters into the first team. This is why Independiente del Valle has been able to produce players playing for the likes of PSG, Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen in just the last few years.

Ordonez is regarded as one of the biggest talents the club has ever produced and at 15 he's already on the first team's radar, which is impressive to say the least.

Already very tall and blessed with long limbs, Ordonez is a tremendous defender who reads the game brilliantly. Still raw, he's extremely strong in the air and has averaged three aerial duels in the U20 Sudamericana so far, winning 75%.

Predominantly a centre-back, he is right-footed but can slot in and play as a left-sided centre-back as well. It is thought the youngster looks up to Virgil van Dijk as one of his idols in the game.

He's quick, and he reads the game well which makes him a difficult opponent for attackers. Even in the Sudamericana where he is going up against players four or five times his age, Ordonez has stood up to the challenge and has stood his ground.

Interestingly, he was a late call-up to the U20 Ecuador squad in the Sudamericana coming in due to injuries. The country's manager, Miguel Bravo, had only good words to say about him though, describing him as a future project.

"Deinner was a member of the U-17s and is in the 2009 category, we are aiming for the sports project. It is important to consolidate young players and we have seen their progress with good eyes," Bravo told Ole.

Born in 2009, Liverpool would not be able to sign him until his 18th birthday which would be in 2027 October. However, there is the possibility of Liverpool coming to a pre-agreement with Independiente del Valle to sign him in advance.

Your article would gain more credibility if you proof read it before you published. You state:

Even in the Sudamericana where he is going up against players four or five times his age,

This would have him playing against 60 to 75 yr old in a Youth tournament. I understand what you mean but it's wholly unprofessional
