Liverpool’s interest in Omar Marmoush has been well founded of late.

A dynamic forward, Marmoush seems to be exactly the type of player that Liverpool could do with at this present time.

As demonstrated by Luis Diaz against Tottenham, any central attacker that has the positioning and pace to time runs in behind defensive lines - or create any space with purposeful movement - will have serious joy at the club.

Between Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo, Liverpool have a myriad of players who can play perfectly-timed, deft passes into a central striker.

Diaz scored twice as Liverpool routed Tottenham 6-3 and could have had even more. The suggestion being that an out-and-out striker would have had even more.

How much would Marmoush cost Liverpool?

Marmoush is exactly that kind of player. His 30 goal involvements in all competitions this season speak to that.

One of the big problems has been understanding how much it will take for Liverpool to secure the Egyptian attacker's services from German side Eintracht Frankfurt.

And on The Athletic’s ‘The biggest transfers of 2025, analysed’ video, David Ornstein has suggested it would be “in the region of €40m-50 million”.

The price for Marmoush is ever-increasing. It was quoted at around £25m earlier in the season, before rising to a rumour of €40m just last month.

Now it could be up to €50m and if he keeps performing the way he does, don’t be surprised if we’re looking at even more than that.

But for a performer of this standard that is the type of money you have to pay. At 25, Marmoush also represents a renewal of the attacking line in Arne Slot’s team. His compatriot and hero, Mo Salah, will be leaving the club sooner rather than later even if it’s not at the end of this season.

Liverpool need to be prepared for the new order. And Omar Marmoush could be an essential part of that.
