Darwin Nunez has made up his mind over Saudi Arabia transfer
Darwin Nunez has been the subject of intense transfer interest this January.
Anfield Watch revealed that the Uruguayan was wanted by Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal. They approached the Reds with an initial £70 million bid - with Liverpool valuing the striker at £85m - and the transfer attempt was subsequently rejected.

It is believed however that the Anfield club would do business at the £75m mark.
Other teams such as Newcastle, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid have also been credited with interest in the 25-year-old, whose future on Merseyside looks uncertain.
Having joined the club back in 2022 for a club-record sum that could reach £85m, Nunez has not gone on to become the reliable goalscorer the club thought they were getting.
He has been short of goals - and confidence - this season but got a huge boost last Saturday. With Liverpool requiring inspiration in their Premier League game against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, Nunez was sprung from the bench.
It was a surprise that the Uruguay No9 didn’t start - given the injury issues suffered by Diogo Jota - but he didn’t let that disappointment hold him back. Nunez scored twice from the bench to give Liverpool a well-deserved 2-0 victory, winning back some of the Liverpool fans who thought he was a lost cause.
Nunez wants Anfield stay
And now it’s been revealed that Nunez wants to STAY at Anfield in order to win back a regular place in Arne Slot’s lineup.
“The Uruguay attacker, who was Liverpool’s match-winner from the bench at Brentford on Saturday, is determined to stay and fight for more game time,” states a report in the Athletic.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Nunez, who is under contract at Anfield until 2027. He earns around £140,000 per week under the terms of his current deal but still has work to do in order to convince Slot he can be a reliable option up top.
He has scored 39 goals in 124 appearances overall for the club and his relative lack of output has led to links with other forwards.
Omar Marmoush and Joao Pedro are among the strikers most closely associated with a move to Anfield. Egypt forward Marmoush, however, is now off the table with a move to Manchester City done.
