Liverpool want to REPLACE Darwin Nunez with RECORD-BREAKING striker
How do you solve a problem like Darwin Nunez? The Liverpool striker has blown hot and cold throughout his time at Anfield and is yet to be fully trusted by Arne Slot, despite some good performances in recent weeks.
Nunez, while popular amongst Liverpool fans, can struggle to finish big chances when he has time to think with the ball at his feet.

Last season, Nunez missed more big chances in a single Premier League season than any other Liverpool player ever, with 38. He seems to lose his composure at the worst moments, which stops him from taking the next step to becoming a world-class striker.
The Reds’ recent 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Anfield is a prime example. Nunez opened the scoring with a difficult finish at high speed, after David Coote bizarrely waved away Mohamed Salah’s calls for a foul as he was brought down while clean through on goal.
It was a great finish, and showed how good Nunez can be when he’s relying on his instinct.
Later in the half, the Uruguayan had a chance to put Liverpool two goals ahead, but couldn’t convert what was a much easier chance on the break than the earlier one he scored.
It goes to show that after three seasons at the club, Nunez isn’t looking any more confident in front of goal than when he arrived. Of course, he offers so much to the team in terms of his work rate off the ball, especially in bigger games.
Now, Liverpool are linked with signing a striker who has the potential to be more clinical than Nunez - and at a much cheaper price as well.
Liverpool want to sign PSV's Ricardo Pepi
According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are one of a number of clubs considering a move for PSV forward Ricardo Pepi.
The American international has been in excellent form for PSV so far this season, bagging 6 goals in 11 Eredivisie games as his side sit top of the league.
At just 21, Pepi is said to be available for as little as €25m, which would represent a bargain for a young player with lots of potential to grow.

While Pepi is still young, he's also vastly experienced, having already racked up 12 goals in 32 caps for USA after making his international debut at just 18. He's been in action during the November international break for his country, scoring the winner in the first leg of their CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final against Jamaica.
Pepi is a record-breaker in his own right, as well. His transfer from FC Dallas to Augsburg in 2022 for $20 million plus add-ons made him the most expensive American player to move from MLS to a European club.
A move for Pepi would also give Arne Slot an opportunity to work with a player he has wanted to sign before. Both PSV and Slot's former club Feyenoord were fighting for his signature during the Liverpool boss' time in charge, but he eventually decided against linking up with Slot.
This could be an opportunity for both to fix that mistake.
