Darwin Nunez set for SHOCK Serie A switch
Liverpool entered 2025 with plenty of question marks over several first-team stars.
There is the monumental contract mess involving Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah to solve with all three out of contract in summer.

Furthermore there is uncertainty around Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate, who are the subject of significant transfer interest amid their own contract stalemates.
And the future of Darwin Nunez is certainly one that is up for discussion. The 25-year-old attracted interest from Al Hilal earlier in the January transfer window with the Saudis seeing a £70 million offer rejected by the Reds.
It is understood that Liverpool would sell for around £75m but it’s not looking likely that Al Hilal revisit their interest before the end of the window.
Napoli want Nunez
Still, certain teams are lurking for the striker, who has been unable to get into a regular goalscoring groove since moving to the club from Benfica in 2022.
Atletico Madrid, Newcastle and AC Milan are among the sides reported to have had a look at Darwin but so far that interest hasn’t yet come to fruition. And now a new team has entered the equation in the shape of Napoli.
Fichajes in Spain is reporting that Antonio Conte is seeking to bolster Napoli’s Serie A title credentials by adding Darwin to his squad during this transfer period.
They have got money to spend given that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has moved on to Paris Saint-Germain and Darwin has now emerged on their list of possible successors to the Georgian.
Conte is reported to see Darwin as the ideal attacking threat and his characteristics could mark him out as a danger man in Serie A. With Romelu Lukaku in decent form up front, it could mean a return to the left wing for Darwin, who has played there on occasion for Liverpool as well as Benfica in the past.
He is under contract until 2028 at Anfield and having signed for a fee which could reach £85m, it will be no easy task to get him out.
