Liverpool's old rival wants Darwin Nunez at a BARGAIN price
Liverpool's old rival wants to sign Darwin Nunez. They want him at a bargain price, too.
Darwin Nunez doesn't appear likely to remain at Liverpool beyond this season. We wrote back in January that he had 'four months to save his career' at Anfield - but the writing is on the wall.
Liverpool Transfer News Today: Reds poised to SMASH record fee as deal speeds up
The Uruguayan has struggled badly at times this season, and the feeling is that it's time to part ways. Nunez hasn't lived up to his clear potential at Liverpool, that much is obvious to all watching.
What potential it is, though. Nunez has every single quality you'd want in a striker except for finishing. That latter part is the important bit, unfortunately.
Still, Jurgen Klopp did get a lot out of Nunez. He had him averaging a goal or assist every 107 minutes in the Premier League last season as the Reds finished third.
Arne Slot, however, clearly doesn't fancy him. If Nunez was to start every remaining Premier League fixture, he'd still be five short of his tally from last season.
And it's difficult to see him starting them all. He may not start any.
So again, we expect Nunez to move on while his value is still relatively high. Which brings us to an interesting transfer rumour.

Darwin Nunez to leave for Turkey?
Aksam in Turkey claims Fenerbahce and Jose Mourinho want Nunez for next season. The striker is said to be available for around €30m and they're very interested.
Mourinho is expected to stay at the club, at least for the time being, and Nunez is on his list. They're essentially looking for someone to step up and replace Youssef En-Nesyri and Edin Dzeko - Liverpool's no.9 could be that man.
However, we can't imagine Liverpool would sell for €30m. They may not sell for twice that.
Anfield Watch exclusively revealed in January that a mega-offer from Saudi Arabia arrived for Nunez but the Reds rejected it. They didn't want to let him go mid-season.

But it's expected that a similar offer will arrive this summer, potentially ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup. That could see Nunez's price sit at around €70m.
Now, Liverpool would almost certainly sell for that price and they'll be holding out for it. €30m would only get the job done if Nunez remains at Anfield until the end oft he transfer window. Even then it might not be enough.

So we're not sure Nunez will end up in Turkey anytime soon. Not for this money, anyway.
