Fabrizio Romano CONFIRMS Liverpool have next Darwin Nunez ready
Liverpool have their shortlist as they power forward to find the next Darwin Nunez. Or at least, the player to replace him.
We expect Darwin Nunez only has a few more months left as a Liverpool player. The Uruguayan could have left the club in January, after all.

Liverpool rejected offers from Saudi Arabia for the striker, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch. There is every expectation that those offers will return in the summer.
Al-Hilal is one of the clubs looking to sign Nunez and they never actually got an alternative. Instead, Neymar left them ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

All should expect some sort of Nunez talk around the end of the season, then.
And Liverpool are far more likely to accept. The primary reason they said no mid-season was because they couldn't find a replacement in time. Not one that would represent good value for money, anyway.
Doubts over Diogo Jota's fitness would put a lot of pressure on any replacement, too, and such a player would need to be near-perfect.
Fabrizio Romano on Liverpool's shortlist
Fabrizio Romano actually went a little further than that. He says that Liverpool do know who they'd sign to replace Nunez but none of them were available in January.

It's an interesting way to put it as it completely suggests that the Reds have players in mind. Their shortlist exists and these stars could be available at the end of the season.
The only forward we're aware of on that shortlist is Victor Osimhen, who's currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli. Michael Edwards has been a fan for some time now and he may be available on the cheap this summer.
But we'd be quite surprised if Osimhen were the only forward to arrive. Liverpool plan to undergo a mass overhaul of their forward line, after all.

So we'll continue to dream of Alexander Isak, who has been one of the best forwards around this season. He and Mo Salah may well be the two best players in England across the 2024/25 campaign.
What a combination that could be.
