Darwin Nunez in line to leave Liverpool BEFORE the summer
Darwin Nunez is in line to leave Liverpool this summer. It might happen sooner than you think, however.
Darwin Nunez's time is up at Liverpool - that much seems clear. We wrote back in January that he had 'four months to save his Anfield career' but we're not sure all of them are necessary.

Nunez has completely fallen out of favour under Arne Slot. The Dutchman prefers Luis Diaz in a central role to the Uruguayan and actually called Nunez out for a lack of work rate.
That's something we never expected to hear or see. Nunez, though, has not been what he was last season - he's regressed.
And maybe a part of that is the interest in him. Maybe it's because he knows his time at Liverpool is up and there's nothing to actually play for right now.
Because Nunez looks like an absolute certainty to leave this summer. It might even happen before summer starts.

Darwin Nunez to leave
Anfield Watch exclusively revealed back in January that Nunez had an offer from the Saudi Pro League. Al-Hilal were in for him and actually made a quite incredible proposal to the striker that he wanted to accept.
It's fully expected that they'll come back in for Nunez once Liverpool's season is over as that's the sole reason it didn't get done in January. The Reds were unwilling to sanction a mid-season move unless it was for a truly ridiculous amount.
Al-Hilal, though, are an interesting one. They're going to feature in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup this summer, which means they can actually sign players very early.
There's a window open to clubs in the tournament (though, the Premier League have since expanded this to all clubs) between June 1st and 10th. It allows for players to be signed for the tournament, essentially.
Al-Hilal want Nunez exactly for that. They're not the only ones, either - Atletico Madrid are linked with the forward and will also compete in the tournament.
With summer not actually starting until June 21st, Nunez could be a very, very early departure from Liverpool. Al-Hilal's bid may even arrive the moment that window opens.

There appears to be no real chance that he remains at Anfield beyond this campaign and the CWC speeds things up. Genuinely, Nunez may be gone within two months.
