Liverpool now 'EXTENSIVELY' watching midfielder who tracks like Eduardo Camavinga

Liverpool are now keeping very close tabs on a 22-year-old midfielder out of Denmark who tracks like Eduardo Camavinga. Daniel Svensson could be what they've been looking for.

Football Transfers reports that Liverpool are 'extensively' watching FC Nordsjaelland prodigy Svensson right now. In fact, the Reds have had eyes on the player for a few months now.

Svensson is a 22-year-old midfielder who can also play at full-back. Last season he primarily played in the middle, though Juventus apparently saw him as a long-term option at left-back and considered a move earlier in the window.

It's in midfield, however, where Svensson likely sticks. He played there consistently last season, starting 31 games for Nordsjaelland and picking up eight assists. Those went with two goals, too.

FT compare him to Eduardo Camavinga, using SciSports analytics to draw that comparison. They both track as ball-winning midfielders who also want to look forward.

The only major difference, stylistically anyway, is that Camavinga is more of a playmaker. Svensson, in contrast, looks to get forward himself as a box-to-box player.

Again, though, his versatility is a major bonus, especially at his age. Just this season already, Svensson has started in both full-back roles as well as in midfield.

Liverpool may have found a good one here.

Of course, fans are hoping for a bigger midfield signing than Svensson, who plays in Denmark. The excitement was around Euro 2024-winning midfielder Martin Zubimendi - this would be a small consolation prize considered to that.

But Svensson does appear to be the kind of midfielder Liverpool want. His analytics track him as a really solid holding midfielder who can also burst between the lines. It's possible that he's the kind of no.6 that ends up thriving in Arne Slot's style - one who is suited to those triangles that the new boss wants to implement.

We'll have to wait and see but if Liverpool want a low-risk signing who can boost the squad, Svensson is one to watch.
