And others such as Luis Diaz and Federico Chiesa could also be in the firing line. Liverpool have been linked with several stars including Alexander Isak, Joao Pedro and Bryan Mbeumo as part of their attacking rebuild.

And in order to fund those deals, some fringe or youth stars could also be offloaded.

Crystal Palace want Koumas

Last summer for example Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho were sold to Brentford for over £50 million combined, which permitted a big spend on goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

One name in the frame who could be sold in order to free up cash is Lewis Koumas. The 19-year-old joined Championship side Stoke City back in August on a season-long loan.

He has scored three goals and added two assists for the Potters this term and his form has placed him on the radar of Premier League side Crystal Palace.

Koumas has scored for Liverpool first team

The Wales international has already played for the Liverpool first team, scoring on his only appearance in the FA Cup versus Southampton last season.

In January Palace attempted to snare Ben Doak, another Liverpool loan star, but were unable to meet the asking price.

Koumas currently has an Estimated Transfer Value of €3.9 million according to Football Transfers but it will take a lot more than that for Palace to convince the Reds to sell. He signed a new long-term contract last summer before heading out on loan.
