Liverpool star wanted as Cristiano Ronaldo's NEW strike partner
Liverpool have got significant transfer uncertainty around several first-team stars as the January window creeps to a close.
Most pressingly the club must decide what to do with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Salah, 32, is wanted by Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia with time now running out on his Anfield career. Van Dijk could join him in the Kingdom with his seemingly inevitable Liverpool contract renewal hitting the buffers.
Liverpool should be able to ward off Real Madrid’s interest in Trent this winter but are powerless to prevent negotiations for the full-back taking place ahead of a potential free transfer.
Meanwhile, there is further trouble afoot for sporting director Richard Hughes. Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to test the Reds’ resolve for Ibrahima Konate, who is out of contract in summer 2026. Luis Diaz is another whose contract circumstances could see him leave before his terms expire in 2027.
Furthermore, Darwin Nunez is another player whose future on Merseyside is shrouded in doubt.
Nunez wanted by Al Nassr
The 25-year-old Uruguayan forward was targetted by Al Hilal earlier in the window with Anfield Watch revealing details of the Saudi attempts to prise him out of the club.
A £70 million bid was initially rejected by the Reds but it is thought they could entertain an offer of £75m for the striker.
If he ends up leaving then Liverpool could opt to pursue a deal for a forward in the summer window.
And Nunez has attracted another suitor from the Saudi Pro League just DAYS before the January transfer window closes.
Saudi journalist Abdulaziz Al-Osaimi is reporting that Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr have got Darwin as well as Jhon Duran of Aston Villa on their list of potential signings.
“Al Nassr has opened the file to sign Nunez,” a report on X reads. “Al Nassr opens the contract file with Duran,” it continues, suggesting that a deal could already be agreed with Villa for the Colombian.
“It is currently unclear whether the club will be able to sign one of them or not,” Al-Osaimi is claimed to have said.
Al Nassr need goals
Al Nassr also feature Sadio Mane and cleared the way for a senior foreign signing earlier this week by selling Talisca to Fenerbahce. There is also space for a foreign player aged 21 or under, meaning Duran AND Nunez could both be registered this winter.
Third-place Al Nassr are in need of striking options with Ronaldo their only reliable source of goals this term on 17 in all competitions.
Talisca was second-highest scorer before he left - on eight overall. Mane has only scored seven in 24 matches in all competitions.
There isn’t long left for these deals to get done so it’s one transfer file to watch with interest.
