Liverpool have expressed a 'concrete interest' in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze and could make a move for the forward if Luis Diaz were to leave the Reds.

Diaz has been consistently linked with an Anfield exit over the past few months, with Barcelona the side showing the strongest interest in the 27-year-old.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been touted as potential suitors, with Liverpool reportedly willing to sanction an exit this summer should Diaz request a move. However, the Reds are not keen on a sale.

Having made it to the final of the 2024 Copa America with Colombia, where he will face Alexis Mac Allister's Argentina, there has been little time for the winger to consider his future.

However, when the Copa America concludes, we may learn more about Diaz's intentions.

LIVERPOOL IDENTIFY EBERECHI EZE AS REPLACEMENT FOR LUIS DIAZ

While Diaz's Liverpool departure is in no way guaranteed, the Reds must prepare themselves for a situation in which the Colombian expresses his desire to leave.

In that case, Liverpool would target Crystal Palace attacking midfielder-cum-winger Eze, according to Football Transfers.

They report that the Reds have expressed a 'concrete interest' in the England international, who is currently preparing for the Euro 2024 final this weekend.

However, Liverpool would only make a move for Eze if Diaz leaves the club. He would reportedly prefer a move to the Reds over Arsenal - who are also interested in the forward - due to the increased likelihood of game time.

It's worth noting that Tottenham are the current 'frontrunner' for his signature according to Football Transfers, with Eze expected to sort his future when he returns from Euro 2024.

Eze is certainly a talented player, something Liverpool have witnessed first-hand on many occasions. The 26-year-old scored the winner at Anfield in a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last season.

The Eagles star produced 11 goals and four assists in just 27 Premier League appearances last term, and frequently impresses with his speed, dribbling ability and technical quality.
