Chelsea ready to test star's REAL desire to play for Liverpool
Chelsea have decided to push forward for a move and test a player's resolve to play for Liverpool. The Reds have a decision of their own to make.
The BBC are one of several outlets to report that Chelsea are ready to move for Marc Guehi. It's an easy one for them, of course, given Guehi is an academy graduate of the Blues.

And Guehi is now moving into the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace are expected to entertain offers, despite quoting £70m for the defender last summer.
That price has to come down. Palace aren't in a position to let Guehi walk for free in 2026 and that makes a transfer almost certain.
Chelsea know this well, too, and that's why they're making a January move. Several other major clubs in England want to sign Guehi but all want to wait for the summer.
This is Chelsea looking to get the jump on them, and snap up Guehi before others can move. And in doing so, they'll apparently test his resolve to play for Liverpool.
Marc Guehi and Liverpool
Journalist Alan Nixon, who has been on the ball with a good few Liverpool reports lately, claimed recently that Guehi has his heart set on the Reds. He's actively willing to wait for their offer in the summer, apparently.
Well, Chelsea want to test that. They're going to put money on the table in January and see if Guehi is really going to take a chance on Liverpool.
There's no guarantee, after all, that the Reds will move in the summer. There could be different targets.
For what it's worth, we hope he's willing to wait. Guehi is an incredibly valuable player - a leader, an experienced Premier League defender and a homegrown talent.
Liverpool could soon run into some problems there, with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher and Joe Gomez all linked with exits.
Gomez, in particular, could be directly replaced by Guehi - as was reportedly a plan in the summer.
So let's wait and see what he does.
