Chelsea are ready to take advantage as Liverpool fear they're forced into the half-price sale of one star.

Liverpool are set for a big summer. Yes, that's the line pretty much every year but there's just no way around it this time.

For one, three enormously valuable players could all leave on free transfers. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah are now within four months of their contracts expiring.

It's a crazy situation and one that could see Liverpool lose integral players without any compensation. But they're far from the only players linked with exits.

Anfield Watch understands that a major overhaul is planned up front. Liverpool want to give Arne Slot a squad built for him - and that means a restructuring.

Several players will be gently pushed towards the exit door as a result. Though, that's not all.

At least one player wants out despite Liverpool not wanting to sell. And now they may need to sell him on the cheap.

Caoimhin Kelleher's pending exit

The Mirror reports that Caoimhin Kelleher almost certainly leaves Liverpool this summer. Though, few will be surprised by that.

It was actually more surprising that Liverpool held onto him last summer. Kelleher was pretty open about wanting regular football as a first-choice goalkeeper but he was never getting that at Anfield.

Outside of Alisson Becker being injured, of course.

Liverpool couldn't afford to let Kelleher go, however. Giorgi Mamardashvili was signed but won't arrive until the season is done. The Irishman had to stay, then.

But this summer, Liverpool will almost certainly be forced to sell. Mamardashvili will be there, for one, but Kelleher is also entering the final year of his contract.

And so it means that not only will the Reds sell but they'll also sell for well below their valuation. The Mirror's report claims that valuation is around £40m - but they'll probably have to accept £20m.

Chelsea, Newcastle United and Bournemouth are all interested in signing Kelleher. They'll be especially interested at a cut-price fee.

Liverpool fear they'll be forced into that low price and it will see them lose a valuable player for less than they'd like. Still, could be worse - could be losing him for free...
