Liverpool are prepared to fork over an incredible amount of money to one club. It's a massive boost to Arne Slot's squad.

Arne Slot is about to win the Premier League but he's doing it with a squad that isn't really his. Liverpool didn't invest to any serious degree last summer, with Federico Chiesa the only addition.

The Italian has barely featured, however. Slot has used him for around 30 total Premier League minutes, basically seeing him as a late-game player for when others are injured.

Whether he sticks around beyond this season isn't certain, though we think you can pretty confidently say he won't be. Liverpool want to make sure Slot has players he wants, which will be a first for him at Anfield.

Of course, doing that means spending quite a bit of money. Liverpool intend to do just that and it seems they might be sending an enormous amount to one club.

But in doing so, they give Slot a major win.

Liverpool to raid Bournemouth

Liverpool will try to sign both Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez this summer, says the Daily Mail. That would involve paying Huijsen's £50m release clause, as well as meeting their £45m asking price for Kerkez.

£95m, in other words, for two players. Two players who would significantly boost the defence, though.

The pair play alongside one another, technically, with Kerkez a left-back and Huijsen operating as a left-sided centre-back. It's a combination that Liverpool almost certainly see a long-term future in.

Liverpool are also simply in the market for a centre-back and a left-back. Andy Robertson is now past 30 and the Reds need a long-term successor.

His form this season, too, has brought about calls for more competition. Kerkez would be exactly that.

And at centre-back, Liverpool have mass uncertainty. Ibrahima Konate is entering the final year of his contract this summer amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Neither Joe Gomez nor Jarell Quansah has solidified their long-term places at the club, either, and there's reportedly strong interest in both this summer. Someone like Huijsen is exactly the kind of player Liverpool need.

What a boost to Slot's squad, then. Liverpool could fix two long-term issues and hand him a stronger squad here - and that's before addressing the attack.
