Liverpool transfers: Price tag revealed for Bobby Clark as five clubs declare interest

A major transfer battle is underway as Bobby Clark gears up for a potential exit.

Interest has come from all around for the 19-year-old midfielder this summer. Liverpool have already rejected a £6 million bid from Pep Ljinders’ RB Salzburg for the youngster.

Clark impressed for Liverpool last season making 14 appearances for the first team, including one off the bench in the league cup final.

Now Clark is at the centre of a transfer battle that could see him move on permanently or on loan for the season.

Who’s interested in Bobby Clark?

According to The Athletic, a loan move to the Championship seems to be the most likely option, with Norwich City, Leeds United, Sheffield United and Coventry City among the clubs targeting Clark.

Having worked closely with Clark last season, Ljinders is also keen to bring the youngster in to kickstart his managerial career with RB Salzburg.

However, the same report from The Athletic states that Liverpool are demanding at least £12 million for Clark’s signature and this would be a club record fee if RB Salzburg were to cough up.

What’s next for Clark?

Calvin Ramsey and Luke Chambers have both been sent out on loan to Wigan and Liverpool are supposedly open to loan offers for Ben Doak as well.

This suggest that Arne Slot and Richard Hughes want their prospects to gain first team experience where they can and so a loan move for Clark wouldn’t come as a surprise.

Clark signed a new long-term contract with the club last season and was clearly viewed as a top prospect by the previous Anfield regime.

After signing from Newcastle in 2021, Clark represents a new tactic of recruitment that has been seen at Liverpool over the last few years.

Youngsters such as Connor Bradley, Harvey Elliot, Ben Doak and James McConnell all joined Liverpool from other academies and have since broken through to appear for the first team.

This doesn’t seem like a business model Liverpool are looking to stray from with the signing of Rio Ngumoha, 16, in the works.

This season could be a great chance for Clark to reaffirm his position as one of Liverpool’s top prospects whether it is at Anfield or out on loan and the battle for the exciting teenagers signature is sure to be tough.
