Liverpool 'considering' THIRD bid for 19-year-old wonderkid

Liverpool are considering selling 19-year-old Bobby Clark this summer after Red Bull Salzburg launched a third bid for the midfielder.

That's according to reliable Liverpool journalist Paul Joyce of The Times, who suggests that a third offer from the Austrian side is closer to the Reds' £10m valuation of the wonderkid.

A second offer of £8m was rejected previously, with former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders desperate to take Clark to RB Salzburg having been appointed their head coach this summer.

Clark is also admired by a host of other clubs after his impressive performances for the Reds last season, including the likes of Sheffield United, Coventry City and Leeds United of the Championship. However, said teams would prefer a loan deal for the youngster.

Clark has made 14 appearances for Liverpool, scoring once and providing two assists, and he was a member of the Carabao Cup-winning squad during Jurgen Klopp's final season in charge.

Having shown plenty of promise, it's somewhat surprising that Liverpool would be willing to sanction a sale for the teenager, although they are now well-stocked in terms of central midfielders.

It remains to be seen whether RB Salzburg's bid for Clark will be accepted.

New head coach Arne Slot has inherited a number of incredibly talented youngsters but not all of them will be donning Liverpool red during the 2024/25 season.

The likes of Billy Koumetio, Adam Lewis and Mateusz Musialowski have already departed, while Calvin Ramsay and Lewis Koumas have secured loan moves for the current campaign.

Surprisingly, Liverpool are also willing to listen to loan proposals for defensive midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, while Ben Doak is likely to leave on loan this summer, too.

While not an academy prospect given the Reds signed him in 2022 from Fulham, 21-year-old Fabio Carvalho is close to finalising a £22.5m move to Brentford, potentially rising to £27.5m.
