Liverpool will be on red alert after Bilal El Khannouss produced a moment of magic for Leicester City against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Anfield Watch exclusively revealed last month that Liverpool are monitoring Bilal El Khannouss closely. The Reds actually thought about bidding for the youngster before his move to Leicester City.

Ultimately, they decided he wasn't worth the money just yet. But that doesn't mean a transfer is off the cards.

Liverpool are still looking at El Khannouss and will judge if he's able to make the jump to Anfield. That becomes especially interesting if Leicester City go down this season.

Their win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday did help them climb out of the relegation zone, but it was also on the back of a seven-game losing streak. It's very, very possible that they drop back to the Championship.

That would make an El Khannouss transfer almost inevitable. And Sunday also saw him send a brilliant come-and-get-me plea to a watching Liverpool.

El Khannouss scores a brilliant winner

Spurs took the lead on Sunday but Jamie Vardy managed to equalise for Leicester early in the second half. That set the stage for El Khannouss.

The Moroccan received the ball at the edge of the final third as the Foxes broke forward. He was happy to drive forward into the space Spurs left, with their defenders unsure whether to close El Khannouss down.

Once he was 20 yards from goal, though, the youngster took complete advantage of that space. He fired one inside the bottom right corner - a genius finish.

It's fantastic and exactly what Liverpool want to see if they're to push forward and sign El Khannouss. This is the kind of skill that makes the 20-year-old one of the most exciting young prospects around.

Now, can Liverpool justify a transfer just yet? Probably not quite. El Khannouss only got his second Premier League goal of the season with this - but if he keeps shining (and maybe produces something similar again) then the Reds will be tempted.

And as we say, relegation for Leicester opens the door for a bargain deal and boy do Liverpool love those. Watch this space.
