Richard Hughes has serial champion on shortlist; Liverpool deal VERY possible
Liverpool and Richard Hughes have reportedly placed a serial champion on their summer shortlist. A deal with Liverpool is very, very possible.
There's a busy summer ahead at Liverpool as they look to reshape the squad. It's something they decided against in 2024, instead handing new-boss Arne Slot Jurgen Klopp's squad.

The only addition to the first-team squad was Federico Chiesa and even that was an opportunistic signing. The Italian has barely featured for 30 minutes in the Premier League this season - Slot just doesn't appear to be a fan.
But Liverpool could genuinely sell most of their attack this summer. Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz are all linked with moves away. As is Chiesa, for that matter.
Of course, moving on those players would necessitate signing replacements. Liverpool have been linked with plenty, as always, including one fairly controversial one.
Here's what's being reported out of Germany.

Liverpool look at Kingsley Coman
Christian Falk tells Bild that Liverpool are considering a move for Kingsley Coman. The Frenchman is widely expected to leave Bayern Munich this summer and the Reds supposedly think he could work at Anfield.
“Liverpool are actually interested in him,” said Falk. “He’s on the shortlist.
"It’s not to the point where there are negotiations or offers yet, but they’re monitoring his situation, especially after he’s Bayern’s number one sales candidate.
“Not because they don’t appreciate him, but because they can see him bringing in money.
“Yes, of course that’s one of the considerations,” he added regarding Coman’s injury history being a worry for Liverpool.
“But of course, with his high speed, he would fit in really well. He comes in on the left, but he can actually play all of them. So that would be interesting for the team.”
Coman is one of the most successful players in world football, having won 12 league titles by 28. That includes Ligue 1, Serie A and Bundesliga triumphs - in fact, last season was the first in his career that he didn't win the title.
However, Coman isn't exactly a reliable player. He's played at least 25 league games just once and even then it was only 29.
He's not consistently available and that seriously hinders his output. Only seven Bundesliga goals across the last two seasons. It's not really enough.

But Bayern are willing to sell and a deal is very possible - if Liverpool truly want it. We imagine Coman is some way down the shortlist, in truth, and no one should expect a move.
If things go a certain way this summer, however, it's a possible one.
