Ayyoub Bouaddi has been one of the breakout stars of the French league season and made his Champions League debut on his 17th birthday against Real Madrid.

He was one of the best players on show that night - a game won by Lille - and was also given the Player of the Match award for his performance against Juventus.

Top clubs clamour for Bouaddi

Bouaddi did not start in Lille’s league phase defeat against Liverpool back in January but did come on at Anfield for the closing stages. And the Reds have taken their place in the queue among a host of the Premier League’s top clubs vying for Bouaddi’s signature.

However, any deal for the teenager is not likely to be straightforward with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and RB Leipzig all said to be on his trail.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Brighton have all taken the chance to watch Ayyoub Bouaddi in action,” reads a report from TBR Football.

“Premier League clubs have been left with ‘glowing’ reports on the teenager.”

Bouaddi the record-breaker

However, one complicating factor is that Bouaddi doesn’t turn 18 until October. That means he would not be able to move to a Premier League club until 2026 at the earliest.

The homegrown prospect signed his first professional contract in 2023, renewing it until 2027 last summer.

This season the France under-21 international has appeared in 20 Ligue 1 games as well as nine times in the Champions League.

Bouaddi - at 16 years and 3 days - was the youngest-ever player to appear in a European club competition. That landmark arrived in October 2023 when he played against KÍ in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

He has since made the step up to Champions League level, where he played against Borussia Dortmund in Lille’s two-legged last-16 defeat.
