Liverpool star at centre of £57m bidding WAR
Liverpool are set for a striking shakeup at the end of the season. There are several question marks over the futures of Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez while Federico Chiesa might well be sold at the end of the campaign.
Mohamed Salah is out of contract at the end of the season and there has been no breakthrough in discussions over a new deal. Luis Diaz could also be on his way as his contract is ticking down and there is little hope of a resolution any time soon.
Liverpool Transfer Latest: Salah revelation as Reds hopeful of four-year deal
The 28-year-old joined the Reds back in January 2022, inking a deal until summer 2027, and he’s not had a pay rise or an extended deal since then.
It leaves Diaz well short of the figures that his Liverpool colleagues earn, on around £55,000 per week whereas Salah earns around £350,000 per week.

Will Diaz depart Anfield?
The parties remain far apart in their valuations of a new deal and if no resolution is reached then Liverpool will have to decide on his future quite soon.
Although the winger has been in decent form this season under Arne Slot, he may well be sacrificed in the summer transfer window.
Barcelona’s interest in Diaz is well established and sporting director Deco is reported to be a big fan of the ex-Porto player. But the Catalans could well be rivalled in the chase for Diaz’s signature with Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid now reported to be interested.
Atletico and Barca want Diaz
That’s according to a report in Fichajes, which claims that Liverpool would be open to selling for €60 million (£50m) to €70m (£57m) in summer when he will have just two years left on his contract.

Atleti view Diaz as an alternative to Antoine Griezmann, who could be heading to MLS in the summer. Although Diaz plays in a different position to the Frenchman, it’s believed his versatility is valued.
He could play wide left as well as up front, offering Simeone added options up top. It remains to be seen what Liverpool plan to do with Diaz but with his contract ticking down they could well sell him this summer instead of losing him for free in 2027.
