Liverpool can use Federico Chiesa as BAIT to line up IRRESISTIBLE Serie A swap deal
Liverpool made only ONE addition to their squad in last summer’s transfer window with Federico Chiesa arriving from Juventus.
Although the Reds added Giorgi Mamardashvili to the roster, the Georgian No.1 won’t arrive until the end of the current season when his loan deal at Valencia expires.

Chiesa was seen by sporting director Richard Hughes as an opportunistic signing with the winger having a strong pedigree at Serie A and international level. However, things have not worked out for the 27-year-old.
Chiesa has only managed 18 minutes in the Premier League thus far and talk has already turned to a Serie A return. Inter, Napoli and Roma have all been linked with the ex-Fiorentina standout with it being reported that a loan deal with an option or obligation to buy could follow.
Atalanta make "exploratory survey" for Chiesa
Italian teams have been put off by Chiesa’s Liverpool salary however and it’s likely the Reds would have to cover some of the costs even if they let him leave in January. The latest team to be linked with Chiesa is Atalanta.
The Italian table-toppers are said to be conducting “exploratory surveys” on Chiesa with a view to adding him to their squad and rescuing his career. That’s according to L’Eco di Bergamo which states Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have got a loan deal in mind with a view to a permanent move next summer.
And this is where things could get intriguing.
Chiesa out, De Ketelaere in?
Earlier this week it was reported that Atalanta coach Gasperini believed that it was only a matter of time before Charles De Ketelaere ended up at Anfield. Although no formal negotiations have taken place over the Belgian, Chiesa could end up being a tantalising bait in order to land the 23-year-old forward.
Should Liverpool decide to add the forward to the ranks - perhaps next summer - then they could take the cost down by adding Chiesa to any deal should a loan deal be tied up in January. Then FSG would be able to get an underperforming asset off the books while recruiting one of the coming forces of European football.
With Liverpool also reported to be looking at Joao Pedro, it’s clear that the decision-makers on Merseyside have got strikers in mind. If all goes to plan with Chiesa and Atalanta then this could be a Serie A swap deal that’s too good to turn down.
