January was also very quiet, but the Reds are performing on the pitch regardless.
It looks as though Liverpool’s 20th league title is enroute to Anfield, but Slot and Richard Hughes are already planning their summer business to ensure the Reds compete again next season.
A number of targets have been identified, but Slot’s side could face competition for one of the most exciting.
Newcastle to rival Liverpool for Serie A star
A summer reshuffle of the Reds’ attacking options is coming, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch, and as such Liverpool have been linked with a plethora of options.
One of the most exciting names linked with an Anfield switch is Assane Diao, the 19-year-old winger currently tearing it up for Como in Serie A.
Diao, a self-proclaimed Red, arrived at Como in January and has been in red-hot form since – but Liverpool are not the only Premier League club chasing his signature.

According to Senegalese journalist Khadim Diakhaté, Liverpool and Newcastle are both monitoring the progress of Diao ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Reds have been linked with a number of Newcastle’s players including Alexander Isak and Lewis Hall, and the two sides will meet in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley next week.
Would Diao fit at Anfield?
At just 19-years-old, Diao has already scored five goals in his first 10 matches for Como.
The Senegalese-born winger, who represents Spain at international youth level, arrived in Italy for €12 million from Real Betis in January.
Mostly deployed on the right-hand side, although capable of playing right across the front-line, Diao could prove to be a good addition for Slot’s side.
Mo Salah is out of contract at the end of the season, and Diao could be part of a plan to replace Salah’s output in the aggregate – Moneyball style – or would be an excellent back-up option should the Egyptian extend his stay at the club.
Newcastle will be tough opposition in the battle for the wonderkid, with the North East club likely to be able to promise more playing time, but it may not be long before the Como winger is playing for the team he supports: Liverpool.
