Liverpool's Arne Slot makes DESPERATE Martin Zubimendi FSG plea
Liverpool failed to sign Martin Zubimendi in the summer with the Spaniard option to stay at Real Sociedad.
However, the club doesn't seem to have abandoned their hopes of signing the midfielder with Richard Hughes rumoured to try to go back in for him in the January window.

That may be a surprise on the surface, especially given how well Ryan Gravenberch has started the season. However, below the surface, it's obvious there is still a great need for Liverpool to bring in a midfielder.
Wednesday night's 3-3 draw made that abundantly clear.
Arne Slot's desperate Martin Zubimendi plea to FSG
Even though Ryan Gravenberch started three games and played the full 90 minutes in all of them in the space of just seven days, Slot gave him no respite against Newcastle United.
The Liverpool head coach simply didn't have a choice. Gravenberch is imperative to Liverpool's success and it's very obvious Slot does not trust his alternative options, who are either Wataru Endo or Tyler Morton.
Slot's decision nonetheless backfired. Gravenberch was completely jaded in this game and he had to be substituted which forced Slot to deploy Curtis Jones in an unfamiliar position.
It's clear that there is still a great need for Zubimendi at Liverpool. Newcastle made it clear that Slot cannot solely rely on Gravenberch alone.
Why this was a desperate plea by Arne Slot
Slot's decision to deploy Gravenberch knowing that the Dutch international has already played a lot of minutes this season was a clear sign for FSG and the powers above him.
If there is a weakness in that Liverpool squad it's definitely the holding midfielder role.
Zubimendi must be a priority for the Reds in the January transfer window. Slot desperately needs someone he can trust to rotate with Gravenberch and not just sparingly use in the League Cup games.
That someone could very well be Zubimendi or as we exclusively reported Samuele Ricci could be another option.
Either way, Slot made it very clear against Newcastle what Liverpool should do next.
