Liverpool are flying high in the Premier League and Champions League with Arne Slot’s first season in charge shaping up to be very successful indeed.

Impressively, the former Feyenoord head coach is achieving phenomenal results with largely the same squad left to him by Jurgen Klopp. Only Federico Chiesa, a marginal figure to this point, was added in the summer transfer market with Giorgi Mamardashvili slated to arrive from Valencia once his loan expires next year.

The likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate have taken giant strides this season with Slot and his coaching staff getting the best out of the assets on Liverpool’s books. However, squad planning never stops with plenty of names linked with an Anfield arrival in January and beyond.

Slot charmed by Hadj Moussa

Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes will be planning multiple additions especially in light with the uncertain contract situations around Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah. And according to the latest reports in Algeria, Slot is ready to revisit an old favourite as part of club plans to replace Salah next summer when his contract expires.

It’s been a long road for Anis Hadj Moussa, who has taken an unusual route to his current club Feyenoord. The 22-year-old played for the Lens youth sector before moving to Belgium with semi-pro side Olympic Charleroi and then second-tier Patro Eisden.

The Paris-born attacker then had a spell on loan at Vitesse in the Eredivisie last season and it was during that time he first “charmed” Arne Slot.

Hadj Moussa DESTROYED Pep and Man City

It’s been reported by La Gazette du Fennec that Slot asked his previous club Feyenoord to arrange a transfer for the Algeria international but he did not get to see the benefit of that move before he took up his post at Liverpool. However, Slot's interest has been rekindled in recent weeks.

Hadj Moussa took his time to get going in Rotterdam with his signing initially being criticised. He has taken his chance in the past few weeks, emerging as a starter on the right side of attack and impressing onlookers with the consistency of his performances.

An injury to Calvin Stengs opened the door to the left-footer and he hasn’t looked back. He scored - and was man of the match - in Feyenoord’s 3-3 draw with Manchester City last week before Liverpool took Pep Guardiola’s side apart on Sunday.

Hadj Moussa is contracted to Feyenoord until 2029 with the Eredivisie giants paying only €1.8 million for his services last summer. Should he complete a move to Liverpool, it would be for much more than that.
