Liverpool target and Arne Slot FAVOURITE close to summer transfer
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida this summer but the Dutchman is advancing in discussions with another Premier League club.
Following Arne Slot's arrival at Anfield, Liverpool had been touted as a potential destination for exciting 24-year-old Geertruida.
The versatile Netherlands international, who can play at right-back, centre-back and defensive midfield, shone under Slot's guidance at Feyenoord and helped them win the Eredivisie in 2022/23 and the KNVB Cup last season.

In fact, Geertruida is the player that has made the most appearances under Slot over the course of the 45-year-old's managerial career - featuring 127 times during their spell together at Feyenoord.
However, it appears that Liverpool won't be adding the reliable Geertruida to Slot's ranks this summer, with Aston Villa edging closer towards a deal for the Eredivisie ace.
Aston Villa want Lutsharel Geertruida
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Geertruida is 'high on the list' for Aston Villa as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of a Champions League campaign.
The Midlands club are in discussions over a transfer, although Romano states that a deal will be complicated to complete, especially given the Villans have to sell Diego Carlos first.
They are not the only club interested in the Feyenoord star either, with RB Leipzig having been strongly linked with a move for him this summer.
Despite Liverpool needing options at centre-back and in defensive midfield, Geertruida is seemingly not on the club's wishlist this summer.
Liverpool still pushing for first summer transfer
The Reds are the only club yet to sign any first-team players since the transfer window opened in mid-June but they are likely to make at least one new signing before it slams shut.
Liverpool are deep in conversations for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi but are yet to finalise a deal for the 25-year-old Spaniard.
The La Liga outfit have launched a charm offensive to convince Zubimendi to stay in Spain and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be able to get a deal over the line.
The Euro 2024 winner, who plays as a defensive midfielder, has a £51m release clause in his contract.
